What can 10 dollars get you around the world?

I found an article on CNN that asked how much you could get for 10 bucks around the world. It was amazing what you can get here and compare it to other places. In Wisconsin, you can get 8 packets of carrot seeds, in Conneticut, you can get 2 sub sandwiches. In Tiawan, you can get 24 pairs of socks and 10 ties. In Philippines, you can get 2 days worth of groceries. In Italy, you can get 2 cups of coffee and 3 pastries. I guess what you get in other countries is not too much cheaper than what you get in the US, you just have to watch your deals. What are you able to get for 10 dollars?

Death from too much virtual gaming....

So, I read on CNN that a couple in South Korea neglected their premie baby because of gaming to the point where it died. How does this happen. I read that they would put the baby to sleep at night and then return in the morning from gaming all night. They were not feeding it right and it lost over a pound to die at 5 lbs 5 oz, and was born at 6 lbs 4 oz. That just makes me sick. They are hoping to get out of jail time because of " gaming addiction " . Really? That is no different from drinking and neglecting your baby. You still killed it. The best part, she is expecting another baby on the way. Wow, you will do so much better with this next one. It should be taken away the minute it is born. They are not fit to be parents. The mom even said she was not sure why the baby lost weight, she was not taught how to raise a baby and did not read up on it. Again, really? It is not that hard, I was not that stupid when I had our daughter. Feed it and change their diapers. Make sure you RESPOND to the crying. AND DON'T LEAVE IT!!!!!! Common sense. Wow, people amaze me with stupidity. What is this world coming to?What are your thoughts on this subject?

YIPPI......spring is here!!!!!

Nothing from the news this week. I just want to blog about how wonderful it is to have nice weather. My daughter and I are having a blast playing outside. The other day she rode her bike around, which we found out is getting a bit too small for her and we are going to have to go bike shopping. All the flowers are starting to come up and the feeling you get from this weather is just undiscribable. I absolutely love spring and the warmth of the sun on wintery dry skin is so soothing. I just LOVE it. I just wanted to share with everyone how grateful I am for the great weather lately. Let me know if you are feeling the same or if you like other seasons better.

Health care.....

I would really like to have the nation mail the facts about what this health care bill is really about. I am so confused about it that I want to cry. Why is it that they are deciding our future with healthcare and not really letting anyone know the exact details in what we will actually get out of it. I have read a lttle about what other countries go through with universal healthcare and it scares me a bit. They say that the waiting time on average is out of control and that just makes me not want to go to the doctors at all. I know they are already crazy just from experience already. I don't want to think of what it will be like when we have the universal health care. I just really wish since it is our healths future on the line, they should involve us a bit more. At least inform us better. What are your thoughts?

Cats and dogs, the new dinner menu?

So, this weeks blog is going to be very hard for some to read, it was a bit disturbing for me at first, but then started to toss the idea around. In China, they have cats on dogs for sale, not for pets, but to be sold as food. They are trying to get the laws passed to get this illegal. Alot of chinese are very upset with the eating of cats and dogs, but others are ok with it and prefer the taste. I started to think about the reasons for why this is acceptable and decided that in the whole scheme of things, this is really not all that bad. Cats are dogs are animals just as horses and pigs are, and yes, these are some peoples pets too. In many countries and our own, we eat them. So what makes cats and dogs different, because they become domesticated? They are still animals, and when we put them to sleep in animal shelters, we just waste them and do nothing with the bodies. Seems like a waste to me. Now I know I sound horrible and as if I do not own pets or care about them, but I do. I have a cat and a dog and used to have horses and love them very much. I could never imagine eating them, but if they died, it is still meat to some and if you were dying and had to eat, would you not eat that meat? I know that the people in China are not dying and have other choices, but again, it is meat. Here is the link to the story, and what are your thoughts on this. wieght in the spotlight....

I could not help but watch Jessica Simpsons interview with Oprah, and thought to myself, you go girl! I have to say, I really do not like the girl because of how stupid she always seemed to be on her tv show when she was first married and other occasions. She just seemed to be a big ditz. I have to say that I am happy for her and kind of impressed for the new show that she is doing with how the world sees beauty. I think this world does become very obsessed with beauty and how thin our women are suppose to be to be considered beautiful. I think that our society thinks that women should look anorexic just to be considered normal and beautiful. That is a bunch of CRAP. Marilyn Monroe was a size 12, yes a 12. That is the average for most women now. In todays standards though, that is now considered to be over weight. What is with this world that makes us want to be a stick to think better about ourselves. The media and celebrities are not helping when it comes to our children. They are starting at very early ages thinking they are fat and trying eating disorders. We need to start giving our children better images to compare and look up to. What are your views on how we see beauty?

Killer whale attack!!!!!

I am sure that everyone has seen the killer whale attack in orlando, I am not really shocked. This animal killed another person also, so why would someone think they would not again. Animals are wild and that is just it. No matter how much you train an animal, there is always a chance for it to turn to natural intincts. It was playing, that is just it, something weighing that much does not have to put much effort into accidently hurting or killing something as small as a human. I was attacked by a horse, not really attacked, it was playing around and I was knocked unconsious, leaving me with a missing tooth and black eye. I was riding my horse bareback in the pasture when the other horse decided to play with one i was on. He charged and jumped on my horse hiting me with his head and knocking me out. Luckily my horse did not move and kept me on her back until I gained consiousness again. We should never let ourselves deal with animals and be put in a position where if we are not paying attention, we can get hurt or lose our lives. I don't think the whale should be put to sleep but it was raised sheltered and not for the wild, so it could never be released. It needs to just be put on dispayed and cared for for the rest of its life. No more showes where someone would put themselves in potential harms way. What are your views on the subject?
